Born 1982 and resided Ulverstone till 2000 before moving to Hobart to study at UTAS completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in printmaking. Dane's practice fluctuates between drawing, photography, painting and printmaking from his now residence at Beaumaris on the East Coast of Tasmania. A selected finalist Tidal 2010, Burnie Print prize 2011 and 2013 and Bay of Fires Art prize 2012, Heysen Art prize 2012 and receiving an Arts Tasmania Startup grant in 2010. Various participation in group shows and held 2 solo shows in Hobart 2013. Having a mixed ancestry of European and Tasmanian Aboriginal, with lineage from Mannalargenna through Dolly Dalrymple influences much of Dane's work predominately focusing on place.
Dane also has experience in graphic design, illustration and building photography. Exploring all these areas at UTAS during his fine arts degree, Dane has a colourful palette, quirky ideas and an eye for a different angle. Contact him.
